Dusting the Rust Off
Apr05
“If you can’t believe in miracles, then believe in yourself. When you want something bad enough, let that drive push you to make it happen. Sometimes you’ll run into brick walls that are put there to test you. Find a way around them and stay focused on your dream. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” ― Isabel Lopez, Isabel’s Hand-Me-Down Dreams
AOPA’s Rusty Pilot Seminar
Life may have gotten in the way, but the dream of flight can be yours again. Returning to the skies is not as difficult as most rusty pilots think. We’re inviting you back in the cockpit and will help you get there. Come and participate in a FREE Rusty Pilots program with fellow lapsed pilots. We will help you understand what’s changed in aviation since you’ve last took the controls and brush up on your aviation knowledge. The Rusty Pilots program is developed by AOPA in partnership with local flight training providers in order to create the best environment for getting you back in the air and a part of the general aviation community.
Freeflight Aviation is happy to offer AOPA’s Rusty Pilot Seminar on April 25th at the Flying W Airport from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Staying Proficient
Checking out in a new type of aircraft is always a great way to stay proficient in flying. What do you need to know about that aircraft not that you have decided to do a checkout?
AOPA now offer a great online course, “Transitioning to Other Airplanes” This course gives pilots factors to consider as they step from one airplane to another, no matter if the transition is from a trainer to a complex single-engine, an airliner to a tailwheel airplane, or from an airplane with traditional analog instruments to one with a modern glass panel. This is a “must be take course” for any pilot flying more then one aircraft. “Transitioning to other Airplanes” will make you think about items you have never considered before when stepping into another aircraft.
A Weather Briefing — The Thunderstorm Season
This is an FAA Safety Seminar at our local airport, the Flying W Airport, on Thursday April 9th about how to make a good weather decision during the spring and summer thunderstorm season. Take the mystery out of the GO/NO-GO weather decision. This presentation will provide an in-depth look at weather forecasts helping you make a better decision when flying this season.
