Details About Your Discovery Flight Package
Before you purchase a Discovery Flight, there are some things you should know:
- Our Discovery Flight packages expire one year from the date of purchase
- Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (the parent or guardian must give the flight school approval for a minor to take the Discovery Flight)
- Please bring a valid form of ID with you to the airport and along with your gift certificate
- The maximum weight for this experience is 250 pounds
- This experience is weather-dependent (see below for more details)
- To schedule your experience, we recommend at least seven days of notification
- The Discovery Flight is considered an educational experience and is intended for one person only
- Discovery Flight Certificates are non-refundable
After purchasing your Discovery Flight package, there are more things to consider:
- Freeflight Aviation, a Part 61 Flight School, will send you a numbered Discovery Flight package certificate, so please add your email address to the checkout form
- This may take three to seven business days.
- Need it quickly, just ask in the purchase.

- Your Discovery Flight certificate number is to be provided to Freeflight Aviation when making a reservation
We will ask your weight, height, age, phone number, and email address for your reservation. Knowing this information will help us choose an airplane and flight instructor. With the proper information, we will send you an email of your appointment.
On the day of your arranged flight, wear comfortable clothing and sunglasses for those sunny days. We suggest no open-toe shoes for your flight. Please remember to bring your Discovery Flight certificate with you.
Sometimes, Discovery Flights may have to be rescheduled for weather, such as rain, wind, turbulent/bumpy air, low clouds, mechanic problems, or other unknown reasons.
If you request a refund of your online purchase, there is a $10 refund processing fee for the first $100 and 10% thereafter of the value of the certificate. Refunds are only given under limited circumstances, (such as an unwanted holiday/birthday gift certificate, etc) per our refund fee policy statement. If you can’t use your gift certificate within the allotted year, it may be redeemed with additional fees.
