Students do not learn much just sitting in classes listening to teachers, memorizing prepackaged assignments, and spitting out answers.
They must talk about what they are learning, write reflectively about it, relate it to past experiences, and apply it to their daily lives. They must make what they learn part of themselves.

Made possible through donations to the AOPA Foundation, our scholarships are a major benefit of AOPA membership, helping members reach their aviation goals.
Scholarships are available in multiple categories, including primary (sport, recreational, and private pilot) certification, instrument rating, and aviation maintenance technician certification. We also have up to 100 scholarships at $10,000 each for high school students and teachers to train for their private pilot certificate. Scholarship awards range from $2,500 to $14,000.
